Principal's Message

Dear PS239 Community,

It is with great pride that I write this letter to you as the Principal of PS239. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition both in and out of the classroom.

PS239 has earned a reputation of academic excellence, outstanding citizenship, and integrity through the hard work of our students, teachers, parents, and staff. PS239 is proud to provide a culturally responsive education and experience through all grades 3K-5, through our constant involvement in community affairs and an atmosphere of inclusion.

We also provide an outstanding STEM program starting in Kindergarten, and various school clubs for students. We encourage you to experience our school culture, one that is focused on providing students with the academic and social resources that will prepare them to achieve their goals. As we believe that every student can learn and be successful if provided the right supports and opportunities.

At PS 239 we believe that all children can learn and excel if challenged and provided with instruction that is specially designed to meet the varied needs of our student population. It is important for our students to be connected to school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing all students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.

Our mission is to partner with students, families and the community to foster lifelong learners. By doing so, we hope to educate, empower, and enable students to become independent, caring, contributing citizens who can succeed in an ever-changing world. We focus on high-expectations to create a community of collaboration, determination and responsibility.

When we take the time to strategically plan, forge positive relationships, celebrate our achievements, and continue to build on our successful foundation, we can foster a learning environment where our entire PS239 community thrives.

PS239 is a place where exceptional teaching and learning is the norm. I am truly honored to be a part of this community and I look forward to the great things our students will accomplish.
